Democrat Michigan Rep. Ranjeev Puri put on blast those who were horrified by the shooting at Michigan State Monday night and express grief:
“Fuck your thoughts and prayers.”
“What happened in East Lansing is unfortunately far too common,” he said, before claiming that “mass shootings have left us desensitized”.

“Thoughts and prayers without action are meaningless,” he continued, adding he will seek new gun control laws “immediately,” despite the investigation not yet complete.
Police say 43-year-old Anthony Dwayne McRae acted alone when he killed two at Berkey Hall and one at the MSU Union Monday night.
When confronted by police about five miles from campus, he killed himself.
Bridge reported McRae was charged with a felony gun charge in 2019, but pled down to a misdemeanor by the prosecutor. He reportedly spent one day in jail.

Because he was not convicted of a felony, he was allowed to purchase another firearm.
Despite the prosecutor apparently not enforcing the existing laws, Puri believes there needs to be additional one.
“We will not stop until our students can attend school without fear, our communities can attend places of worship in peace, and our society is safe from senseless gun violence.
