The event was intended to denounce “racist ethnic cleansing,” apparently by Israel:

After news that babies had been butchered at the hands of Hamas terrorists, Imam Imran Salha of Islamic Center of Detroit responded during the rally by denouncing what he described as Israeli atrocities, “They left the fire in our hearts that will burn that state until its demise,” apparently referring to Israel.

Osama Siblani, publisher of Arab American News, told the crowd Hamas is not a terrorist organization, while at other times, the crowd chanted, “Free, free Palestine!”
The raucous crowd also chanted, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!” and “No justice, no peace!”
