Indianapolis police say 34-year-old Ruba Almaghtheh rammed her car into a building bearing a logo that resembled the Star of David Saturday because she thought it was a Jewish group.

Instead, the antisemitic Palestinian woman destroyed the property of Black Hebrew Israelites, The Israelite School of Universal and Practical Knowledge.

Video showed the woman’s car rammed backwards into the building in the capital city.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested Almaghtheh and labeled her a “terrorist,” CBS 4 reported, after the woman herself described it as a “planned attack.”

Almaghtheh was arrested on the charge of “intimidation.” Police say it happened around 12:30 a.m. Saturday and there were “several” adults and children in the building at the time.

“Almaghtheh told officers she was watching news coverage of the Israel-Hamas war on television and decided to plan an attack on the building because she was offended by the ‘Hebrew Israelite’ symbol on the front of the building,” according to Fox 59.

She referred to it as the “Israel school,” and Indianapolis police said she made reference to “her people back in Palestine” and told officers, “Yes. I did it on purpose.”

According to police, Almaghtheh admitted to her “hate crime” during a jail house call with a family member.

“Safety and security for our community is of the utmost importance, and we are more secure and prepared than ever before,” Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis officials wrote in a press release, Fox 59 reported. “Although a Jewish facility was not targeted, solely due to ironic misidentification, this is yet another reminder to maintain security protocols, remain vigilant of suspicious activity and to (report promptly) to the appropriate authorities.”
