They warned of their activities prior to the event.

We will shut down U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg. We will make him flee. We will make him scamper,” the group predicted. “We will make him QUAKE. We will do not what is kind but what is necessary. We will do so in Lansing. We will do so tonight. Buckle up.”

Michigan News Source video showed the group chanting “Stop Petrol Pete” as officers loudly ordered them to continue moving towards the door.

Buttigieg was taking part in former Gov. Jim Blanchard’s Public Policy Forum Series, according to WILX.

“I’m not going to claim that Secretary Pete but has had a legendary career, yet,” Blanchard told the crowd after acknowledging Buttigieg’s comparative youth. “Or I’m not going to claim he’s some sort of icon, but I think it’s true that he’s had a fascinating career in public service and I believe he will have a gifted career going forward.”

Meanwhile, other leftists attempted to shut Buttigieg down from outside the venue.

Pro-Hamas activists chanted for a “permanent cease-fire” in the wake of Hamas’s October 7 terrorist attack against Israel.

“We are asking Joe Biden and all of those working for him in the cabinets for a cease-fire. That’s what America is asking for—we’re being our own American self, expressing our love for our democracy and listening to our people, and the people say cease-fire and we say cease-fire,” said Saba Saed, the Vice President of the Arab Cultural Society at MSU.
