Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis played to tens of voters in Urbandale, Iowa Saturday as he attempted to argue his has strong support in the early voting state.

DeSantis has been having trouble in the state and the problems only seem to be growing.

An Iowa St./Civiqs poll found Trump leading DeSantis in the Hawkeye State, 54 percent to 18 percent —  a 36-point lead. That grew from a early November lead of 26 points found by Trafalgar Group.

Even more troubling is a poll published by the Daily Mail, which found DeSantis losing badly to Trump in his home state of Florida, 60 percent to 21 percent — a whopping 39 points.

“Despite historically high approval in the polls, Governor DeSantis losing steam in his home state doesn’t bode well for his national campaign,” University of North Florida Public Opinion Research Lab director Dr. Michael Binder said.

“Even if you wipe out the rest of the competition in a head-to-head, Trump leads DeSantis by 20 points.”
