Vice President Kamala Harris — the first woman vice president in American history — had trouble saying “woman” Thursday in Michigan while denouncing a recent Alabama Supreme Court ruling.

Appearing alongside Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and U.S. Rep. Hillary Scholten in Grand Rapids, Harris said, “Individuals, couples who want to start a family are now being deprived of access to what can help them start a family. On the one hand, the proponents are saying that an individual doesn’t have a right to end an unwanted pregnancy, and on the other hand, the individual does not have a right to start a family.”

She referring to women — the only humans who can get pregnant — as “an individual” and “the individual.”

Harris, Whitmer, and the Democrats have been attempting to make the 2024 presidential election about abortion and seized on the Alabama Supreme Court ruling that frozen embryos can be considered children under state law, the Associated Press reported.
