A Muslim woman heckled a Jewish University of Michigan regent Saturday at the Michigan Democratic convention in Lansing.

Video posted by Bridge Michigan reporter Jordyn Hermani shows Jordan Acker, who is not up for re-election this year, standing silently as the national anthem was being sung.

“Will you divest from Israel?” she shouted as everyone else was quiet.

Pro-Hamas agitators have made the university’s financials a flashpoint after Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.

As a man who appeared to be a security agent stood between them, the woman continued to rant about “genocide.” Much of what she said was difficult to discern over the women singing the Sar Spangled Banner.

As the song concluded, the video showed Acker attempting to move away and the woman pursuing him.

The Detroit Free Press reported, “Acker’s law firm was vandalized earlier this year with messages that included ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘UM kills.’ Acker said he was targeted because he is Jewish.”

Acker took to X Sunday to argue the woman’s goal is to “root ‘zionists’ out of American society: whether it’s political, professional, or social.”

As awful as her behavior is, the fact that nobody from her own campaign grabbed her and said ‘hey, cut it out, they’re playing the anthem’ is pretty telling,” he added.
