Oakland County Circuit Judge Victoria Valentine ordered the two Columbians, Michel Alba Rincon, 39, and Geovanny Castellanos-Forero, 27, to spend nine months to 15 years in prison on account of the home invasion. Both criminals pleaded guilty last month according to a Fox 2 Detroit report.

According to the Troy Police Department, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security believes that there is “probable cause” to assume that all five criminals are in the nation “illegally”– an unsurprising fact of life in President Joe Biden’s America and Gretchen Whitmer’s Michigan.

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office noted that illegal immigration issues will be handled by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

All five were initially arrested on August 1. It was reported by a homeowner who was away at the time calling police after seeing the crimes take place on a home camera system.

At that time, a police source said that the five criminals were part of an international group that targets high end homes in Oakland County.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said at the time that she intended to put the criminals away for as long as possible.

“It threatens our personal security in the place we should feel most safe,” she noted. “Because of the quick action of this homeowner and the Troy police, these defendants are locked up, and my office will prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

While the nation has focused on Springfield, Ohio, as a hotspot of crime committed by illegal immigrants, Michigan has experienced more than its fair share.

On Monday, an illegal immigrant from Mexico who shot and killed a Grand Rapids woman before dumping her body along the highway pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal preferred by the victim’s family.

Brandon Ortiz-Vite confessed to killing 25-year-old Ruby Garcia with an illegally purchased handgun during an argument in Garcia’s car on March 22, resulting in charges of open murder, second-degree murder, carjacking, carrying a concealed weapon, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Ortiz-Vite pleaded guilty to all but open murder on Monday and is expected to be sentenced on Oct. 31.

The murder, at the time the second within a year allegedly committed by an illegal immigrant in Michigan, has driven debate over the Biden-Harris administration’s immigration policies, with Republicans including former President Donald Trump pointing to the case as an example of the consequences of millions illegally crossing the southern border.

In June, “asylum seeker” Jose Medina-Hernandez, killed a mother and daughter when the delivery truck he was driving crashed into their car in a construction zone.

Medina-Hernandez had been granted a driver’s license from Michigan’s Secretary of State, but  a Shelby Twp. news release stated:  “It was later determined that Medina-Hernandez had no legal status in this country and ICE was contacted for further investigation.”

In the past several months, illegal immigrants have been arrested for multiple sex assaults in Ann Arbor, a fatal hit-and-run in Grand Rapids, soliciting sex from minors in Shiawassee County, sexual conduct with a 16-year-old girl in Livingston County, and breaking into a home in Sturgis to molest two girls under the age of 13.
