The Mike Rogers for Senate campaign is airing a new ad, hitting Elissa Slotkin and the Biden-Harris administration for backing electric vehicle mandates.

The ad, titled “Mandates,” will be backed with a 7-figure buy, the campaign tells The Midwesterner.

“Washington is shipping Michigan jobs to China,” a narrator says.

“Growing up, I had a job working in a car factory,” Rogers tells viewers.

“We’ve lost too many of these jobs and we could lose even more,” he adds.

A new study produced by the America First Policies Institute estimates over 37,000 auto jobs could be lost in Michigan if the Biden-Harris EV mandates, which regulate tailpipe emissions, are allowed to stand. Some 123,000 automotive jobs could be lost in all, according to AFPI.

In the ad, Rogers says he will fight the Biden-Harris EV mandates, “take on China, and save our jobs.”

“I work for Michigan, not China,” Rogers says as the ad concludes.

“Michigan workers have been sold out and left behind by Slotkin and Harris, with thousands of manufacturing jobs lost to China already, the last thing we need is their radical EV mandates that will further enrich the Chinese,” Rogers for Senate Communications Director Chris Gustafson tells The Midwesterner. “Mike Rogers has dedicated his life to fighting for and protecting Michiganders, he’ll put an end to Harris-Slotkin EV mandates, take the fight to the CCP, and he’ll always have the backs of Michigan workers.”

One million dollars will be spent reaching voters on broadcast and cable channels, as well as digital streaming platforms.
