Another accused murderer is off the streets in Michigan thanks to Immigration and Customs Enforcement and President Donald Trump.
“ICE Detroit, along with our partners @FBIDetroit, @DEADetroitdiv, @AFTDetroit, and @USBPChiefDTM, continues to protect our communities by removing public safety threats, like this illegal alien from Venezuela who is wanted for murder in his home country,” ICE Detroit posted to X on Wednesday.
The post is one of what’s become daily notices of illegal immigrants arrested in Michigan as part of the largest deportation operation in U.S. history, initiated by the 47th POTUS on the first day of his second term.
Others posted to X by the Detroit Sector’s Chief Patrol Agent John R. Morris over the last week included two special interest aliens from Venezuela arrested by agents at U.S. Customs and Border Patrol’s Marysville and Sandusky Bay stations, as well as one Guatemalan and three Mexican nationals arrested in Shelby Township.
Another illegal immigrant from Honduras was arrested by agents in Gibraltar late last week, while other special interest aliens from Venezuela arrested by agents from Detroit and Sandusky during traffic stops face removal and gun charges, as well.
Still others last week included three illegal immigrants, one from Honduras and two from Mexico, who were arrested in Southgate and Monroe – “all with previous immigration histories,” according to Morris.
The ongoing arrests follow a recent notice from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan detailing criminal charges against at least 46 illegal immigrants so far in 2025, with alleged crimes ranging from drug trafficking to illegal firearms possession to child pornography offenses.

The cases include individuals from Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Venezuela who entered the country illegally with prior convictions for human smuggling, drug trafficking, drunken driving, assault, and theft.
“These cases represent a fraction of the criminal aliens we and our federal partners arrest every day across the Detroit Sector that’s making this country safer than it was just a few short months ago,” Morris said in a statement.
Many arrested are dangerous hombres with a long history of violent crime.
In mid-March, two Venezuelan nationals, including one alleged Tren de Aragua gang member, were arrested for an attempted “snatch-and-grab” at a Nordstrom Rack store at the Great Lakes Crossing Outlet Mall, The Detroit News reports.

U.S Border Patrol Chief Michael W. Banks noted in a post on X that one of the illegal immigrants arrested is “wanted for kidnapping and torture in Colorado and is linked to the notorious Tren de Aragua gang” and is now facing charges for “willfully refusing to depart the U.S.”
Another Honduran national arrested in Monroe County on Thursday has a pending warrant for homicide in Indiana.
The arrests come as lawmakers in Lansing butt heads over immigration policy in the Great Lakes State. Legislation introduced by Democrats to provide driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants failed to clear the House on Thursday with all Republicans and six Democrats opposing the measure, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Democrats who opposed included Jasper Martus of Flushing, Denise Mentzer of Mt. Clemens, Reggie Miller of Van Buren Township, Amos O’Neal of Saginaw, Angela Witwer of Delta Township and Mai Xiong of Warren.
Republicans who control the lower chamber have also vowed to restrict state funding to local governments that provide sanctuary to illegal immigrants, while Democrats who control the upper chamber have worked to block legislation introduced by Republicans to align the state’s policies on immigration with federal immigration enforcement efforts.
