Parents across the country will soon receive letters from school officials touting gun violence prevention measures, but critics contend it’s all part of a “gaslighting and deception” campaign from the Biden administration.

As part of a January executive order from President Biden, the U.S. Department of Education is enlisting school principals to distribute form letters on gun violence crafted by the White House that are designed to appear as though they’re from local officials.

“Local leaders, like school officials, community and faith leaders, and law enforcement can be trusted, credible messengers when it comes to providing guidance on gun violence prevention and safe firearm storage options,” according to a White House statement.

Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona in late January sent a letter to all principals in the country “explaining the importance of safe storage and encouraging them to communicate with parents, families, caregivers, and the broader community about how safe storage can protect students in school and in their communities,” the statement read.

The letter includes ominous references to the AR-15 rifle, along with statistics on firearm suicides and school shootings, and a call for principals and district administrators to leverage their “credibility” and “trust in your schools and districts” to promote the Biden administration’s gun control agenda.

“As a resource, the U.S. Department of Education’s Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Technical Assistance Center has developed a customizable letter template that principals and district administrators may choose to use to provide parents, families, guardians, and caregivers with important information about safe firearm storage,” the letter read.

The template allows school officials to simply input their information to make it seem as though the letter is from them, rather than the Biden administration, effectively hoodwinking parents. It includes statistics on school shootings, tips for firearm storage and “Helpful Resources” that include gun control activist organizations like the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

The White House is further encouraging local school officials to recruit “other municipal and community leaders to help improve understanding of safe firearm storage and broader gun violence prevention efforts.”

The effort hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Second Amendment Foundation, which “is dedicated to promoting a better understanding about our Constitutional heritage to privately own and possess firearms.”

“The White House’s template is classic propaganda, in which a target audience is unaware they are being influenced and unaware of the true source of the message. It’s a psychological operation, or psyop, which targets unsuspecting Americans,” according to the foundation’s Investigative Journalism Project.

“That the White House and its gun control office would publicly propose such a plan proves they do not fear exposure from the legacy media. This, too, is telling. They know who their friends are and don’t worry about repercussions.”

“Now, anything goes, including psyops and other forms of gaslighting and deception,” the foundation reports.

The covert nature of the operation is in line with the Biden Administration’s newly created Office of Gun Violence Prevention, which “wields tremendous power but operates in secrecy, without oversight,” according to the foundation.

The office has no website, publicly accessible budget, or clearly articulated plan for how it will “build on historic actions taken by President Biden to end gun violence.” Those historic actions include promoting red flag laws, universal background checks, bans on semi-automatic firearms and standard capacity magazines, and more stringent requirements for gun dealers.

“For the first time in the history of the United States a president has created an office within the White House solely to find ways to circumvent and violate the Constitution,” said SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. “And do not forget that taxpayer dollars are supporting this abomination. We are paying the Biden-Harris administration to violate our civil rights.”
